Core Web Vitals

The Google Core Web Vitals determine the user experience of a website for both the mobile version (as of June 2021) and the desktop version (as of February 2022).

The Google Core Web Vitals focus on three aspects that measure the user experience on a page. These three aspects are:

  • First Input Delay (FID);
  • Largest Contentful Paint (LCP);
  • Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS).

Because Google regularly adjusts the SEO guidelines, the Core Web Vitals are also subject to change. As a result, it is possible that certain SEO techniques that used to work may no longer work today. In this case we speak of black hat SEO. For the best search engine optimisation, it is therefore good to keep up to date with such updates and changes to Google's guidelines.
